W&LE RR to PA 906 Pavement Preservation

Located in North Belle Vernon Borough and Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, this project begins at the Belle Vernon bridge and proceeds 3 miles east to the I-70 bridge that crosses over the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad Bridge east of the Donora/Fayette City (Exit 43) interchange.

This project includes:

• Milling and resurfacing
• Concrete patching
• Replacing inlet tops/inlet grates in the median
• Cleaning inlets and cross pipes
• Barrier repair
• Updating guiderail
• Signage
• Pavement markings
• Delineation
• Installation of fiber optic cable
• Paving and patching of ramps

When construction begins in 2025, there will be detours while the following ramps are paved and patched:

• Belle Vernon / Monessen (Exit 41)
• North Belle Vernon (Exit 42)
• Fayette City / Donora (WB) (Exit 43A/43B)
• Fayette City / Donora (EB) (Exit 43)

Additional travel restrictions may include nightly lane closures and weekend closures while the inlets in the median are repaired.
